A Glimpse into the Mysteries of Aphrodite

I am sure you are already feeling the intensity of Venus (Aphrodite) retrograde in Scorpio, a profound invitation to descend beneath the surface of love, desire, intimacy and self-worth.

From October 3 to November 14, Venus takes us on a symbolic journey into the underworld of the heart, revealing hidden attachments, unconscious fears and the ways we may have confused love with control, passion with possession, or devotion with self-abandonment.

I have been feeling the presence of Aphrodite more intensely than ever.

The Aphrodite who does not ask us to become more beautiful, more desirable or more lovable, but to remember that we are already worthy of love.

In Ancient Greek wisdom, the divine is not separate from the human experience. The Gods and Goddesses reveal forces that move through Nature, through the cosmos, and through our own being. For me, Aphrodite is the sacred intelligence of cultivating self -love.

To be initiated into the mysteries of Aphrodite, we must surrender to her, for the greatest gift of Aphrodite is not to be loved by another, but to become a living expression of Love itself.

Old patterns of love, forgotten desires, attachments, fears, even the stories we tell ourselves about who we are and what we deserve.

Allowing the Goddess to inhabit us means to enter our bodies, our breath, our desires, our wounds, our relationships, even those places where we have forgotten how to love ourselves.

Sometimes Aphrodite arrives as revelation. She shows us where we have confused love with attachment, devotion with self-sacrifice, intimacy with the fear of being alone.

She asks uncomfortable questions.

Where have I abandoned myself in order to be loved?

Where have I silenced my truth to preserve harmony?

Where have I given away my power, hoping that someone else would recognize my worth?

I am sitting with these questions myself. And I am discovering that self-love is not simply a feeling of tenderness toward ourselves. It is an initiation into truth. It asks us to see ourselves without illusion, to embrace our shadows without shame, to recognize our desires without judgment, to love without losing ourselves, and sometimes, more courageous in saying no.

Perhaps the greatest initiation of Aphrodite is not about finding love.

Perhaps it is about becoming a place where Love can dwell.

With love,

Apostolia
